As I understand it, Direct Connect is a feature being incorporated into 
the 1900 CDMA system. It's the dominant, most-used feature on Nextel 
systems. Personally it drives me nuts; everywhere I go there's somebody 
with his Nextel thing making beeping, booping and bleeping noises, 
yelling at someone on the other end.
