Use 2000mAh or better NiMH AA cells in the regular battery holder and charge
them OUTSIDE the scanner.

It will last much longer on a charge.
The cells are much cheaper at Wal-mart/Target, etc.
The charger is much safer (melt down a $20 charger instead of a $150 radio).
The cells can be replaced (for <$10/4pack.

Hello all again,
 
It is time after 5 years to replace the rechargable batteries in my  pro 92.

I can't seem to find the 23.125 1.2v 600mah on the site  anywhere.   The 
closest I can come up with is 23-449 1.2v 1000mah nicd  battery AA standard 
rechargable 4 pack.  I just hope I don't blow the radio  or have trouble
charging 
them with my 9v 200mah adapter.  I'm going to head  to the store on
Wednesday to 
see what they have.  Any suggestions would be  much appreciated.
