Having just purchased a 250D myself, what's the verdict on software that ISN"T free. Is there one that stands out as much better than the others for programming and monitoring?

Hi everyone. I am looking for a couple of things here. First does
anyoneknow of anywhere I can get a hold of some freeware that will work
better then the E-scanner software that comes with the BC250D? Also, what
good PC recording programs are available out there for recording audio
from a scanner? information would be great, and thanks in advance.

There ain't a lot, that's for sure. Insofar as freeware goes, there's
Control Freq Jr.2.1, and one that is both freeware and is handy for doing
recording, the well-known IDTracker. Both of these have links here:

Unfortunately I don't think Control Freq does any more than EScanner
does, but as it's free, it's worth a look anyway. Any other packages that
support the 250 and the newer Unidens can be found at the link above. If
there's any I missed, please forward the link so they can be added to the list.
