All;
Just noticing recently with all this interesting weather rambling
through that AEP has changed their talkgroup layout.
Last year, they added dispatchers and renamed the desks:
"Service" is now known as "Trouble"
"Region" is now known as "Switching"
"Load" I have not heard so do not know if they have been renamed. These
don't get on the radio quite as often as the others, as they're more of
a system-wide type, monitoring overall power demand and reacting as
needed. Switching handles regional demand, and Trouble is the local
service desk.
Now the talkgroup usage has changed. Here are the changes I have noted
so far (the AFS talkgroups are followed by the decimal talkgroup code
and the talkgroup name as it's been known):
Chillicothe Trouble - 04-145 (629, CHIL LOC)
Columbus Switching East - 05-137 (751, Columbus unknown)
Columbus Trouble East - 05-145 (757, Columbus Stores)
Columbus Trouble West - 05-155 (765, Columbus unknown)
Columbus Switching West - 05-157 (767, Columbus unknown)
As you can see, the fleets do not appear to have changed, just the
talkgroup usage. Has anyone heard if talkgroup names have changed, or is
it just talkgroup use that has been shuffled?
