Greetings all on Trunkcom,
Looks like St Clair County, Illinois is getting close to having its Trunk
Radio System. Click on these links for data on it:

However, if you'd like to read the raw FCC data on the St Clair County TRS,
here is the weblink to the FCC Website with data on it:

http://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/genmen/uls/lic_state_res.hts?db_id=19&rows=0&sndx=SANTCLAR&state=IL

(Just look for the 'Pending Level 2' entries at the top, labeled 'YF'. Which is
for 'Trunked Public Safety in the 866-869Mhz band)

This system might have good penetration into St Louis City, and
St Louis County. There is a site scheduled to be installed in East St Louis,
Illinois. The E. Stl Louis site appears to be a short-range fill-in site. Not
meant to cover large areas of real estate. Also sites in Cahokia, and a
directional-site in near-by Caseyville. The Caseyville site looks like it will
be targeting its energy away from St Louis City. 100-watt repeaters, with
ERP of 389-watts. A directional antenna in-use. My best guess is it will
target its main-lobe of RF energy: Due-East across the NE portion of
St Clair County.

16 total repeaters ; divided into 2-seperate repeater blocks ; 10-sites total:

Repeater-Set #1 is:
866.5625
866.800
867.1625
867.1875
867.5875
867.750
868.6375
868.750

Repeater-Set #2 is:
866.075
866.175
866.225
866.700
867.0875
867.700
868.1375
868.850

Here is a possible configuration of the system
(the following data is hypothetical only):

- E. St Louis Site could operate on Set #1.
- Caseyville Site operate on Set #1
- Cahokia Site would operate on Set #2
(Cahokia would cover alot of the cities
beneath the Bluffs ; however, very little
  coverage east of bluffs or east of Hwy 157 ;
  E. Carondelet, Dupo, Cahokia, Fairmount city,
Washington Park & E. St Louis all covered)
- Millstadt Site could safely operate on Set #2
(not really safe distance ; However, very rough
   terrain between Millstadt & Cahokia)
- The NW Belleville site on Set #1
- The SE Belleville Site (actually near Freeburg)
  on Set #2
- The Ofallon Site is safe distance from the SE
Belleville Site (Freeburg) to reuse Set #2
- Mascoutah Site on Set #1
- New Athens (tough one) ; depends on which direction
receives the primary lobe from the transmitter-
  either NW or North)
- Lenzburg operates on the alternate Set, *NOT* being
used at the New Athens Site.

So, those of you with PRO-96s, and the Uniden APCO-25 ready scanners,
in the St Louis Missouri & Metro Illinois area. Clear away a Trunk bank
for the St Clair County TRS. Its still pending for now. But coming soon.
It should be online this summer. Starcom 21 is not expected to come
online til Sept, 2004.
