Hi everyone, and happy holidays to you all. For Christmas one of my gifts
included the Pro-96 here, and so far I am very impressed with it, but have
yet to figure it all out, but that of course takes time.
I was delighted to know that here in Michigan where I live when I got it
out of the box there are already MPSCS digital trunked stuff programmed into
the banks. I also was impressed with the fact that the regular batteries
that came with the unit lasted as long as they have here, but I am charging
the unit now. I just have a question though on programming it. Yesterday
when I went to Radio Shack to get the charger and computer connecter the
lady at the store said that I would have to program each bank or folder in
in a certain order, and she seemed to think that the digital part was
missing for our local system which is Astro 3600 but potentially will be
upgraded to 9600 with it being right around a lot of other 9600 BAUD systems
like the city of Detroit and Wayne County. I am just wondering if someone
could help me with programming this by hand, because I've had no luck with
conventional or trunked stuff, and I asked for and got recommendations on
this scanner because someone said that it was user friendly for someone who
is blind. Any information would be helpful and thanks in advance.
