[TrunkCom] New Pro-95s and any impending switch to Digital

The Pro-96 will be of no use to you when the SA system is installed. I
just talked to several city officials I know down there and they are
going to an EDACS ProVoice digital system. It is proprietary and nont-
Project 25 compatiable. Sorry when they switch over you will not be able
to monitor the system on any scanner and I doubt at this point we will
see one that can handle ProVoice in the near future. Should have held on
to your Pro-95.

And as for the other question yes the 96 will handle 9.6kb trunk control
channels which will let you listen to the Project-25 trunk systems. So
you will be able to monitor that and the Motorola ASTRO IMBE digital
systems using the Pro-96 and the new Uniden 296/796 scanners. We will
have the new Pro-96 in our hands abt Tuesday or Wednesday and maybe have
some first impressions shortly after that.

If you want a more detailed description visit Lindsay Blanton's website

This website has the best trunking info on the net period. No one else
comes close.

73 all and good hunting from the world of fall colors -- Brasstown, NC.

I really don't know. That's what I was asking the lady at Radio Shack
and she didn't know anything about the Pro-96. At this point, I'm just
happy to be rid of an otherwise good receiver that would have been
useless to me within a few weeks or months. I've now gone back to my
Bearcat which, for [1] NOAA weather and [2] Texas Highway Patrol, works
just as well as the Pro-95.
