Great News! I stumbled on this fix purely by accident, but here it is.
Everyone has had great success, using the 'Andy' program that has been
modified for 1000 channels, in programming all frequency data and alpha
tags, including alpha tags for the trunk lists. The on-going difficulty has
been in getting it to actually program trunked channels as 'trunked
channels', rather than as 'conventional channels'. This caused a rework
process to be required whereby you needed to re-enter the trunked freqs,
correctly set as trunked, as well as their channel alpha tags.
Today I discovered that if you set the channel correctly in the spreadsheet
as trunked (N) and set the mode to "A" (not 5, or 12.5, etc) you can program
the radio, but you will still see the trunked channels in the 250D as
conventional. NOW, you go back and reprogram just those trunked channels but
only select the 'mode' option on, leave all other download options in the
program (not the spreadsheet) unchecked. Download and you will now see them
set correctly as trunked. (You can also enter the alpha tags for the
channels using this same method!).
Viola!
