[TrunkCom] Question about Tulsa PD

Mike, I have a BC245XLT (similar internally to the PRO-94) and recently opened my big mouth and offered to program two 94s for friends in the local C.O.P.s program. After many frustrating hours, I learned that there are (at least) two models, one of which CANNOT scan trunked systems and conventional at the same time, even if the trunked system(s) are in banks all alone, with the conventionals in another bank. If you have that model, the only way to scan a trunked system is with the conventional bank(s) turned off, and vice versa. That model also does not allow EDACS agency wild card talkgroup scanning (or whatever Uniden calls it), where you can scan all 02-xxx groups by entering only 02- (zero two dash).
TrunkedRadio.net does not show Tulsa as a trunked system. However, they do have an active Oklahoma discussion group, at
http://www.trunkedradio.net/groups/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=36
and I read numerous posts there that indicate it is a Motorola Type II system (with Broken Arrow on EDACS). Even though I could not locate the trunked system info, other sites have the 800 MHz freqs for Tulsa.
Finally, the general answer to your question is, yes, you have to enter all the frequencies, following the manual instructions as to how to enter them as a Motorola system. Then (following the manual instructions), you have to enter the talkgroup IDs for the groups you want to monitor (which eliminates hearing the trash trucks, road crews, etc.). If you merely enter the frequencies as conventional FM freqs, you will not be able to follow a trunked conversation.
I'm sorry to be saying "follow the manual," but I downloaded one from Radio Shack and had to follow it step by step to get the two different PRO-94s properly loaded and scanning. I then promptly forgot everything I had learned, because I program my PRO-93 using a simple freeware computer interface program, and (almost) use the Uniden as a paperweight!

I am trying to find out what type of system Tulsa police and fire uses. =
My name is Mike. I'm fifteen, and am also blind. Also, when =
programming the pro 94 for trunking, do you program the talk group ID's =
or the frequencies like normal? Any information about these two topics =
would be appreciated. I have tried to ask radio shack but have had no =
luck. Thanks,
Mike
