A few years ago, there was talk that the folks in charge of the Pennsylvania
project ahd agreed to think about making a scanner that could track this
system, especially if a lot of counties jumped on board with the project.

Nothing ever materialized and I think the original rumor was based purely on
speculation or maybe a statement from MA/COM to get the scanner listeners to
shut up for awhile.

I can tell you that since 9/11, people involved in the radio project have been
very tight lipped in the name of homeland security.  I would no hold my breath
for a scanner that can track Open Sky since it is still very much a minority
system nationwide(other MA/COM systems coming online aren't even all Open
Sky...some are, but some are technologies that MA/COM bought out in recent
years).

The clock is ticking for being able to listen to state government services in
PA.
