According to a press release I read from the Michigan State Police, the
following additional systems are supposed to be 9600 baud compatible:
State of Arizona
State of Illinois (StarCom 21)
State of Indiana (Hoosier Safe-T Net) in the future
State of Ohio (in 2004)
State of Arkansas (in 2004-05)
Locally here in Michigan, the Downriver Public Safety system is programmed to
run at 9600 baud, but are currently operating at 3600 baud to be offer Wayne
County users backup talkgroups. Likewise, the following Michigan systems are
strongly contemplating a move to 9600 baud:
Allegan County (Whenever they get this system up and running?)
Detroit Public Safety (Provided of course they can get the fire dept., to
agree to use digital
mode rather than analog)
Lapeer County (in 2004)
Western Wayne County (after they erect more towers)
Wayne County's long term plan calls for joining all of the public safety
trunked radio systems across the county together in to a SmartZone TRS by
late 2005.
