Hello Everyone,

Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in while I wait for my snail email to
upload by saying that we have to all understand that these are the first
generation of digital scanners and as when the 235 came out there was no
edacs tracking. Uniden probably has a good reason for this. The main one is
probably as they have stated in the past with velsp that the 9600 is not
widely used and is not neccesary at this time. As with Multinet and Passport
which are coming up in the world here in the Northeast. I don't know what
the standard is for baud and p25, so I can't comment on that. Uniden in the
sense of saving a little money on manhours produces the only biggest needs in
the beggining. They also have third party that develops digital and
trunktracking. But, I think this is just because this is the first digital
scanner and like the first trunktracker can only get better. This could also
be a reason why they have decided to do digital as a option. My advice is
that if you know that your dept will stay with 3600, get the radio and just
wait for the flash upgrade to come along. You can always use it in
conventional mode. Who has time when they're driving or have their hands in
water to play with the buttons anyway. Just my thought. No offense. Good
night.
