Motorola launches first Bluetooth enabled remote speaker microphone

HANOVER, Germany, March 13, 2002 Motorola (NYSE:MOT) announces the
launch of its new remote speaker microphone with Bluetooth wireless
technology for its GP professional series radios, designed to meet the
communications needs of todays professionals.

The remote speaker microphone communicates wirelessly to Motorolas
two-way radios through a Bluetooth enabled adapter. The Bluetooth
technology ensures fast and reliable transmission of voice and data via
a radio link, meaning professional users can now work and communicate in
a truly wire free environment.

Two-way radio users in the manufacturing, construction, warehousing,
hospitality, utilities and retail industries will all benefit from this
new accessory. They will be able to leave their radios up to 10 metres
away and still be able to communicate. This means users can walk away
and do not have to worry about cords getting caught in other equipment,
which is particularly useful for users in the manufacturing industry.
The microphone means users in the fast-paced sectors, such as
hospitality or retail, will be able to respond quickly to situations,
without having to constantly remember to keep their radios with them.

To maximise the freedom the remote speaker microphone brings
professionals, there are a number of accessories available including, a
carry case featuring a belt clip, belt loop and armband giving users a
choice of where to secure the remote speaker microphone.

The Bluetooth speaker microphone is compatible with Motorolas GP
professional series radios, GP320, GP340, GP360 and GP380 only.
