Hi Todd:
Although rare, it is possible to configure both Type 1 and Type 2 to
exist in the same block. The New Jersey State Police (NJSP) and City of
Miami are currently doing this: NJSP has two Type 1 blocks that are
sizecode S13 (which takes up 4 blocks each), but also has Type 2 ID's
inside of blocks 3, 6, and 7. The city of Miami is all Type 1 but has
split the last Type 1 block into 2 portions: the first half of Block 7 is
sizecode S11, while ID's 61440 to 65520 is Type 2.
None of the Trunk Trackers handle these rare situations completely - you
either have to make the whole block Type 1 or Type 2, but you can't do
both. The only system that I know of that can properly track a system
like this is Greg Knox's TrunkTrac, which allows you to specify both the
Type 1 sizecode for the block and at the same time any Type 2 ID's that
exist within that Type 1 block.
