[TrunkCom] Pagers...

Hello again,

I should have mentioned that the trunked Moto II system I'm talking about is on 469 MHz and is used by one of our steel producers in Sweden for their daily communications.

And at the plant there is part time fire fighters, and a friend of mine came up with the question if it was possible to use pagers in the trunked system to help the fire fighters so they don't have to run/drive to the fire station and maybe find out the alarm was false. They are not only fire fighters at the plant, some are also working as fire fighters in the city were the plant is.

Our normal fire communications are on 78 MHz and there are pagers on that frequency but at the plant there is a very bad radio environment so they are useless there. Therefore the question about "trunked" pagers.
In Sweden we have a paging system called Minicall, but there is only beep or text transmission possible, and they are on 161/169 MHz.

I will give your answers to him and then he can call Motorola and ask.

Thanks for your answers so far, and thank for the ones that are coming.

Best regards

Tobbe in Sweden
