I don't know, but that is a good question. You were flying
internationally so that may have been a factor. How about flying in the
states? I will be flying from Michigan to Florida at the end of the
month. Of course I am expecting delays, but plan on bringing not only my
scanner, but some ham and short- wave gear as well a long with a lap top
computer. I'm not going to have all of this in my carry on, but the items
I will most likely have on me in my carry on are my scanner and my HTS,
and a little SW receiver that only FM would work on a plain anyway.
Personally when I tried to trunktrack on a plain last year on
spring break I found it hard because for one my radio got confused with
the many control channels I could receive. The other thing was that with
some type I systems that I had programmed into my scanner I would fly over
areas where there were type II systems thus creating a mix up in fleet
maps. I know that on plains I really should not be using a scanner or
radio, but its kind of hard to trunktrack, and that would pose a good
question.
