Here is another idea:
Make one time of Radio Scanner only.
Flash ungradable to whatever anybody wants:
That way everybody will have the same Radio Scanner body but with different programs. If somebody just wants to listen to there local TRS, then they can download the frequencies, Talkgroups, etc and that would be it. In other words a totally Flash ungradable Radio Scanner.
Everybody pays the same price for the hardware and then depending on what you want to listen to, you pay more for a Trunking Program, Conventional program, Aeronautical Program, etc..

Greetings all,
 When you bring the new BC250D, BC785D & BCi25D
to market. In the interest of all, please make them with a
flash-upgrade style firmware. This way as time goes on,
you can release upgrades so that we can enjoy monitoring
of more and more digital modulation formats. I understand
APCO-25 will be the focus upon release. But there are other
digital modulation schemes out there. Some of them have been
discussed just recently on Trunkcom.

It would be nice to finally have a 'Do everything radio'.

Or here is an alternative. Make the new ones flash ungradable
so that the 'Open Sourcer's' on the net can create firmware
upgrades for it. I guess it would all depend on how much
time & resources you want to invest in it.

Please consider this. I believe it would benefit us hobbiest
tremendously.
