Check this out....
Help out your local agencies if they haven't responded!

|
| For those of you that are not on the NENA's List Server. This came
out
| this morning, I checked at http://wireless.fcc.gov/plmrs/audit.html
and
| found that my audit did not make it to the FCC, as well as many
other
| agencies in Marion County.
|
| Suggest that each of you search you agency and found out if your
| response made it to the FCC.

|
| We just had something come up in Virginia that I thought I would
pass
| on.
|
| One of our PSAPs downloaded the list of licenses posted on the FCC
web
| page that are beyond the required 60 day response period for the FCC
| audit of frequencies below 512 MHz. They pulled out all of those in
| Virginia (2,200) and we posted it on our web page (www.va911.org)
and
| notified all of the PSAPs of its existence. Quickly, we began
getting
| calls from people that had responded but were still on the list.
One of
| those PSAP Managers, Melissa McDaniels from Orange County, called
the
| FCC to determine the problem and was told that if the response to
the
| FCC audit survey was mailed between October 15th and sometime in
| November, the response may not have reached the FCC. Some or all of
the
| FCC's mail during this time has been held due to the Anthrax virus.
| Melissa found that her letter, sent October 15, did not make it so
the
| FCC had her listed as not responding and in danger of losing her
| license. She called the FCC, 888-225-5322, and explained the
situation.
| They were understanding and allowed her to fax her form in, 717-338-
2696
| and said that though is was beyond the 60 day requirement it should
not
| be a problem.
|
| I am not sure of the extent of the problem. I only know at least
two
| PSAPs in Virginia have identified it in the first two hours of
having
| the list. I did not recall it as having been circulated on the list
| before so I thought I would pass it on.
|
| Good luck...

|
| Thanks for posting the information regarding the FCC Audit. During
the
| NCC meeting this past Friday in Washington, Commission staff
| acknowledged that a significant number of replies that had been
mailed
| by license holders have fallen in the cracks of the mail service
| following Sept. 11th. The Commission still has a significant
quantity
| of mail from the September-November period that has not been
opened. I
| would suggest that all license holders check the status of their
| licenses through the Commission to ensure that your licenses are
secure.
