I have been researching the Pgh trunked radio system. To try to
determine the correct fleetmap to program to properly receive the
system. I started with the info regarding Heinz field on the WPA page.
These talkgroup IDS cannot be Type II as there are only 16 numbers
between each group, a true type II system will be spaced at 32 between
each valid talkgroup. Also I would hear the same conversation taking
place on 53632 and 53616 this should not be.
I then set my scanner to type II and started capturing talkgroups (tgs)
from the entire system. After collecting this data for 2 weeks I
imported it to Excel and used the fleet map conversion utility which is
available on the web. After reviewing the data in the conversion utility
I came up with the following fleet map. It may not be correct but it
should be real close. Please try it and let me know the results you get.
Block 0 S12
Block 2 S12
Block 4 not used or unknown at this time
Block 5 S-4
Block 6 S-1
Block 7 S-4
Note B1 and 3 are not shown because S12 uses 2 blocks so there really is
no block 1 or 3 after entering the S12
Please submit any info you come up with, I will be making changes to
this fleetmap and posting them as I continue to explore.
