Greetings one and all. I'm considering purchasing a used EDACS
capable handheld scanner. Are there differences in performance
between the Rat Shack Pro-92, 93 and 94 vs the Uniden BC245? I like
some of the feature sets with the RS models, such as alpha-numeric
displays and ability to use alkaline or rechargeable batteries
(whereas the Uniden has only the proprietary battery set as a
choice). Also, the RS radios are triple conversion and would appear
to be more immune to intermod in conventional use. Not to mention
S.A.M.E. and CTCSS decoding.
Bottom line, though, is the actual performance in scanning EDACS.
Which is the better choice? Any comments appreciated.
Regards,
Jim
