Believe it, it is the truth. Uniden and GRE are the ONLY makers of ALL
of Radio Shack's scanners (Trunk Trackers and non-Trunk Trackers).

Not really, it's more like McDonald's getting its hamburger meat from
Publix and Winn Dixie grocery stores. McDonald's (Radio Shack) buys the
meat from Publix (Uniden) and Winn Dixie (GRE) and turns around and sells
it as their Big Mac (scanner).

First, Radio Shack does not make ANY of its electronics. They OEM them
out to companies like Pioneer, Uniden, etc. Second, why do it when
you've got companies that have already designed and made the products,
and all they have to do is re-package it with Radio Shack labels? There
is no need to invest all the money in design and manufacturing when you
can simply OEM it out to existing companies who are already set up to do
the work.
