Greetings All,
I can not knock-down the Pro-92. It has a few
desirable features for us.
Most notably. Ability to monitor a Trunk system
that is producing a strong signal, while in the presence
of other equally strong, to stronger signals.
A good example of this is to drive to Jefferson & Market
located smack in the middle of the City of St Louis. Most
of my Trunktrackers loose the St Louis City Police signal
there. Obviously, downtown is right there, in plain view.
And the Police Tower is visable with the naked eye as is
the Flashing strobe light from the top. But for some
reason, all of my HT trunktrackers, except the Pro-92,
loose the signal, just to the west of there. Between Grand
& Jefferson on Market. Market turns into Forest Park Blvd.
Continue west to Spring Ave. That has always been quite
a bad (nasty) RF zone. Even thougth with the naked eye,
anyone can see all of downtown and Police HQ from there.
I mean its right there....
- a mere 20 city blocks away, Jefferson marks the 2600
block going west in the city of St Louis
- Grand Ave marks the 3600 Block going west in the City
But the Pro-92 is the only HT I have that continues to
receive a good signal from the City police, while at that
bad RF-Alley.
So the Pro-92 does do well with strong disred signals, even
in the presence equally strong undesired signals. Even if the
undesired ones might be alot stronger. (I mean a lot stronger)
However, when far away from St Louis, in the presence of
weak signals from the City Police, and several nearby
strong undesired signals, the Pro-92 seems to cave-into
deafness before any of my other HTs.
And the other bad thing, is the high-drain of battery power.
The Pro-92 can really go threw them, quickly.
So if you frequent an RF-Alley (a nasty RF overload Zone)
and the signals you want to monitor are also good and
strong too, then the Pro-92 is certainly for you. It'll keep
all of those other RF-Overloading signals from breaking
thru. .
