[Troop139] Happy Easter!

Hi Folks!
Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter and to thank all who
participated in this weekend's events!  The support of parents Diana
Valencia, Joan Cristofoletti, Ben Cabrera, Kim San Juan, Nancy Beattie, Gurz
Gungil, Jeanne Dewey, Phil Sciame and Gordon Beattie, and  EAGLE SCOUTS
Peter Davidson, Karl Schubert, Robbie Schubert, Arslan Gungil, James Beattie
and John Beattie was just AWESOME!  (I hope I didn't miss anyone!)  :-)

 

The Holy Thursday Mass and overnight and the Good Friday Hike were wonderful
with all participants completing the 20 mile hike.  No one bailed or had to
be ferried off the course!  That is a real accomplishment for such a diverse
group with a wide range of experience and another element of what it means
to be a St. John's Troop 139 Scout!  

 

On a personal note, it was special for me to see all three of my sons
participating with the older two, Eagle Scouts James and John, taking my
place at the back of the pack helping the stragglers along the route.  My
knee prevented my walking and it was touching to see this role passed from
father to sons.  

 

We also had Jeremy and Beno with their families lighting the Pascal Fire on
the front steps of St. John's for the Easter Vigil Mass.  Nice job boys!
