Hi Folks!

This is Holy Week and we have several special activities planned:

1.	On Tuesday, we will meet at 7:00 PM as normal to prepare for our
Good Friday Hike and to get ready for the Pascal Fire on Saturday. Those
wishing to attend the Tenebrae Service at 8:00 PM in the Church, will be
sent up at about 7:50 PM. Parents will need to agree to this when they drop
off their sons and be responsible for picking up their sons when the service
is over.

2.	On Holy Thursday, we will meet in Conlon Hall at 6:00 PM to prepare
for our overnight there and to get ready to attend Holy Thursday Mass. We
will move to the Church at 6:30 PM. If you are not attending Mass, or are
attending Mass somewhere else, you may come to Conlon Hall at 9:00 PM. You
will need a sleeping bag, pad, full uniform, orange Troop 139 T-shirt and
suitable clothes for the weather when we hike on Friday. Pizza will be
served about 9:30 PM. Lights out will be at 11:00 PM. Wakeup and breakfast
will be at 5:00 AM and we will start our hike at 6:00 AM. We should all be
done between 3:30 and 4:30 PM. Parents can pick up their sons from Conlon
Hall at that time. We still need more adults to hike the route, though
several of our Eagle Scouts are coming back for this favorite hike!

3.	On Holy Saturday, we will gather on the front steps of St. John's
about 6:30 PM to light the Pascal Fire and to attend the Easter Vigil Mass.
This is not a uniformed event and families are welcome to participate in
this very special activity.

4.	Parents, please update your contact information and other
Scouting-related data based on the sheets that I sent out on Sunday.

As we proceed to the celebration of the institution of the Eucharistic
Sacrament at the Last Supper on Holy Thursday, let's think about Christ's
Sacrifice for us and how it is manifest by his consecration of bread and
wine and then his sacrifice of himself on the Cross on Good Friday. That
God made Man would come among us, to teach us to love and serve one another,
is an amazing article of faith. The fact of His lasting gift of the
Eucharist is on its face, an overwhelming and a true sign of the New
Covenant with Our Lord.

May you have a happy and blessed Easter with your families and friends as we
celebrate his Resurrection, for He is risen, Alleluia! Alleluia!

Peace!
