Hi Folks!
My son Jeremy has recently completed most of the tasks outlined in his Eagle
Project and is requesting your assistance in gathering coverage reports from
repeaters in your area.
He sent the request to the "ARC Squared" Red Cross Radio Club, the Passaic
County ARES/RACES group and to his Boy Scout Troop where there are a number
of Scouts and Scouters who are Amateur Radio Operators. I am forwarding his
request to others in my address book and would ask that you do as well to
maximize the number of reports that he receives.
One note: Per BSA policy, any email sent to Jeremy must be cc'd to me (I am
a designated adult) as he is not yet 18 years of age. Jeremy's email is
jbmistapants at gmail.com.
Thanks & 73,
Gordon Beattie, W2TTT

Subject: [Troop139] Repeater Coverage Reports for the Red Cross Needed
Hello Everyone,
As part of my Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project for the Red Cross of
Northern New Jersey, I am collecting repeater coverage reports from
repeaters that might be used by Red Cross volunteers during times of
emergency.
Please check each of the listed repeaters and add others that you use.
For each repeater let me know how strong the repeater was on a scale of 0-9.
I will also need to know which radio you used, the type of antenna and your
location.
If you would like to test from your home and other locations, please send
me each report.
Please forward this request to members of your radio clubs and other
related organizations. The more reports that we receive, the better off we
will all be during the next emergency.
To update you further, I have finished assembling and painting all ten
antennas for the "go-kits" with the help of not only my troop, but various
other ham radio operators.
Thank you again everyone.
Sincerely,
Life Scout Jeremy Beattie
