[Troop139] Dan Caplan WA2AFY Silent Key - Lost a Great Scouter and Friend

Hi Folks!

Sad news from Sgt. Mike Hoeft of the Passaic County Sheriff's Department
about the passing of our friend, Dan Caplan.  

 

Dan was an active Scouter as well serving as the volunteer Eagle
Administrator and on the Council Advancement Committee for many years.  As
an Amateur Radio Operator he was active with Passaic County RACES and CERT
and always concerned about tracking volunteers for their safety and health
status while on operations.  He always cared about the people whose lives he
could touch.

 

I can tell you that Boy Scout Troop 139 has had many young men who owe Dan a
tip of their hat and prayer for what Dan did for them.

He always put the interests of the boys first and was dogged in making sure
that those who had lesser agendas were not going to have their way.  Thank
you Dan!  :-)
