So far, we have had two rough outlines presented for consideration. It
would be excellent for the Troop to see these progress and some more get
started.
The basic objective of this challenge is to provide a way for a small group
of Scouts (2-4) to plan, prepare, lead and execute as many Scouts as
possible in a launching of a small wireless camera in a process that uses
the maximum number of Scouts and advancement requirements.
Some have inquired about the scoring, so here are a couple of key concepts:
1 pt for a refreshed Scout skill element
2 pts for the mastery of a skill for the first time by a Scout
2 pts for every second of flight multiplied by the number of participating
Scouts.
1 pt for every second of flight multiplied by the number of participating
adults.
Plan to include as many skills into your plans and get some PowerPoint or
poster board presentations drafted up and reviewed for presentation to the
whole Troop for an upcoming activity. If there is a requirement for any
rank that you need help in incorporating into your plan, please ask for some
suggestions! Every requirement through the rank of First Class can
certainly be included in your plan if you use your imagination!
Finally, those leading a team will be fulfilling many requirements for the
Inventing Merit Badge.
Yours in Scouting!
Thanks & 73,
Gordon Beattie, W2TTT
