Boy Scout Troop 139!

Last week our young men attended Holy Thursday Mass at St. John's and then
ate pizza and played in Conlon Hall before getting some sleep. On Friday,
everyone was up bright and early and walking 20 miles on the Troop's annual
20 mile Good Friday church hike. The boys visited Our Lady of Mount Carmel
and St. John the Theologian before returning to St. John's in the
mid-afternoon. All were tired, but satisfied in their achievement! The
Hiking Merit Badge is a Eagle Scout-required badge that every Scout in our
Troop earns. Boys in most Troops only earn the Swimming Merit Badge to meet
the requirement while 70% of our Scouts earn both.

Join Boy Scout Troop 139!

Boys ages 10-18 are welcome to join St. John's Boy Scout Troop!

Our parish's Scouting program is based on personal development of the body,
mind and soul blending traditional outdoor skills with high-technology in a
faith-based program focused on developing our young men.

The Troop meets on Tuesday nights from 7:00 - 9:00 PM in the church
basement. Younger boys in grades 1-4 can participate in our Cub Scout Pack
139. For contact information, please call Gordon Beattie at 201.314.6964 or
email to w2ttt at att.net

Eat at Wendy's in Bergenfield to support Boy Scout Troop 139!

Come one, come all to Wendy's in Bergenfield from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Mondays
during April and May! Please consider having dinner out on Monday and
support the boys! No coupon or special request is required. You may even go
through the drive-through! A percentage of the proceeds will go to sending
our boys to summer camp.

This would be an ideal time to meet some of the Scouts and adult leaders and
find out more about the Troop! If you are planning to come by and would
like to learn more, feel free to give the Scoutmaster, Gordon Beattie at
call or text 201.314.6964.

Thanks & 73,

Gordon Beattie, W2TTT
