Subject: [TransAtlantic] New to List

Hi to All
My Name is Al White N0TVJ and I live in Eastern North Carolina in Brunswick
ounty
nd my QTH is about 1.5 miles from the Ocean. (Grid FM03uw) (Lat: 33.55.56N
ong: 78.16.06 W)
nd saw the announcement on themicrowave-request at lists.valinet.com concerning
his project.
am a retired Telcom Engineer currently constructing a EME station using a
PSDR for the
F portion of the Transmitter / Receiver. And the Idea of a Beacon System and
he possibility
f studying VHF-UHF-Microwave coastal propagation is very interesting to me.
he results of some testing in this area would allow me to use and debug the
quipment needed for EME at the same frequencies.
s I intend to try EME on 144 MHz to 10 GHz the hardware requirements are
imilar.
I know from my progress to date that the mechanical part of the EME dish
ill take a number of years to complete so I have plenty of time for such a
roject.
y QTH seems to be in the zone where a good site could be located.
ink to map on APRS http://aprs.fi/?call=N0TVJ
have High Speed Internet at my location and most of the
quipment being constructed for EME on 144 MHz to 10 GHz could also be used for
he TransAtlantic
onitoring / contacts.
may have to build a less directional antennas depending on the targeted
eceived locations.
have gone to the links ( http://sites.google.com/site/n7bhcvhf/) referenced in
ark Casey, K1MAP
nd Dave - N7BHC email postings and have a number of questions about how to
est proceed.
hope following this list will provide some of them.
ne is the first is the contact details for Dave.
Thank you for the bandwidth

Al N0TVJ
