I am looking for a suitable 120Vac electric tower winch for my crank up tower. It's a Hi-Gain HG52SS tower and I'm tired of cranking.
I've done a lot of Googling on winches and coming down to the finish line I've learned that most all winches are used in pulling applications. I'm told that I want a lifting winch with a brake on it.
After extensive research I only see that the Warn company makes lifting winches.
I'm looking at their AC1500 or H1000AC which are both lifting winches. These are slightly more costlier than the one sold by Glen Martin Co. that is the Dutton Lainson Strong Arm winch which is a pulling type. Dutton Lanison expresses that these winches are not to be used for lifting or holding purposes????
Does anyone have any experience in this area that can advise myself?
Thanks.
