Now's your opportunity! Interested in APRS in East Tennessee? We need
help!
We're just over two weeks away from launch day for UX-3, the third
high-altitude balloon launch by the UT Amateur Radio Club. The launch will
take place at 0800 on Oct 22, 2005 from the campus of the University of
Tennessee in Knoxville. We are shooting to break the high-altitude record
on this flight!
What help can you be? Glad you asked!
We need additional help in almost all areas. Site preparation, balloon
preparation, mobile tracking teams, public & press relations, and many more
areas. If you have an area of specialty, we could possibly need that too.
:->
I am formally soliciting your help! Please contact me ASAP for placement on
a team. Depending on your role, you could be needed as early as 0400 hours
on Saturday (launch team) until 1800 hours (tracking team). This promises
to be one of your most exciting days yet as a ham.
Make plans now to join us! Simply send an email to tjmaclay at charter.net if
you are intersted. The coordinator for your area of interest will be
contacting you shortly.
Looking forward to getting many involved in this! Let's make a name for
East Tennessee APRS with this launch!

Travis Maclay
