[TMRA] HAMFEST 2020

Hello All

Well its that time of year again….HAMFEST!!!! (and hey there an ARRL Convention too)

Hamfest 2020 is shaping up to be quite a great event. We are hosting the ARRL Great Lakes Convention on Saturday (www.toledoglc.org) and then Hamfest on Sunday. As per always we have our great Vendors, both Commercial and Private sellers are going to be in town.

SATURDAY MARCH 14TH WILL BE THE ARRL GREAT LAKES CONVENTION Registration and Doors start at 08:00
SUNDAY MARCH 15TH WILL BE THE TMRA HAMFEST 08:00 until 14:00

Both Events will be held at Owens Community College in Perrysburg Ohio. 

The Convention will be held on the Main Campus in Veterans and Heritage Halls. Tickets are Available at the Door. Tickets to the Banquet will also be available at the Door. At the time of this e-mail (03/08/20 at 21:45 pm) there are still 12 Banquet Tickets available. 

Hamfest will be held in its typical location inside the Student Health and Activities Center.

The TMRA will again be holding a V.E. Testing Session so come out and get or upgrade your License and good luck to all who plan to test at Hamfest. The Hamfest V.E. Session welcomes walk-ins, the cost to test is $15.00. 

 We have scheduled two very special Guests, 
A.) Rick Roderick / K5UR He is the current ARRL President
B.) Bob Heil / K9EID Owner and founder of Heil Sound
Both of these Men will be presenting at the ARRL Great Lakes Conference on Saturday and then staying over Night to join the TMRA at Hamfest on Sunday. 

The Tickets for HAMFEST this year are $10.00 and are as always Parking will be free.

Speaking of Tickets, You can Pre-Order Tickets and pick them up at our Express WILL-CALL Station this year. Go to www.toledoglc.org for advance Tickets Sales. You can also learn all about the ARRL Great Lakes Convention at this Web-Site and buy your Tickets there.

DON’T FORGET TO PRE-REGISTER FOR THE WOUFF HONG CEREMONY ON THE CONVENTION WEB-SITE. The Ceremony starts at 20:30 just  after the Banquet on Saturday in Veterans Hall. Go to toledoglc.org or register at this link http://arrl-ohio.org/wouff-hong.html 

         

TMRA MEMBERS, we are as always in need of Volunteers to work at HAMFEST. We need help with set-up on Saturday and tear-down on Sunday, Help is always needed on the Door Crew and we hope you can make it out to join in and support the Club. Set-up will start on Saturday at 09:00 and we will be open for vendors until 20:30. Tear-Down starts as soon as we close the Doors on Sunday Afternoon. It is not necessary for you to work all day on one or both days, give the time that you can give, even a short amount of time is very helpful. Your time, even just a half an hour, can be the difference between someone getting or not getting a break. PLEASE HELP!!! Also, if you are attending the Convention on Saturday and have extra time (perhaps a Forum that does not interest you so there is extra time n your day) we welcome you to come across the road and lend a hand. I cannot stress enough how valuable even a short amount of time is. 

Hometown Concessions will be offering food and drinks again this year. Be sure to try one of their great dishes.
A reminder to all attending on Sunday,
        FOOD AND DRINKS ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE THE ENTRANCE DOORS. This is a policy of OWENS Community College.

HAMFEST WEEKEND IS NEXT SATURDAY AND SUNDAY AND ITS GOING TO BE GREAT!!!!! We will see you there.
