Hello all. Before the general meeting yesterday during the "mini" Grab N Go
demo several had asked about my HF vertical antenna (strapped to the fence
in the rear of the shelter).

This website has (some) info for anyone interested:
http://www.w8afx.com/

This is the antenna I used during my November adventure to Kentucky for the
ARRL November SSB Sweepstakes... made contact with Japan as well as all
corners of the US (including AK & HI) - from an elevated position of
course. You can read more about my adventure in the Feb 2010 TMRA Beacon
newsletter (http://www.tmrahamradio.org/Newsletters/2010/Feb2010.pdf) :)

I'm also planning on using it this Sunday, weather permitting, in the new
ARRL Rookie Round-Up contest. This is a newer contents designed for hams
who've been licensed for three years or less (a contest just for me,
yay!). While this is mostly an HF-oriented contest, it does include both 6
Meters and 10 Meters, both of which Tech's have access to (limited on 10M).
I've been hearing that 10M has been open off and on lately, so those techs
out there who are interested might want to check this out!
