I believe my manual is identical to the NAVSHIPS 92786 manual, but I have no
idea if it corresponds to the "A" or the "non-A" version of the manual.
My copy is actually one chapter of a much larger manual, which is the entire
remote-operation unit this radio was used in. I should probably scan some of
the images from this thing - it was huge! The idea was to put all the
receivers themselves into one room where the antenna(s) come in, but to put
the operator's consoles somewhere else and use the R-5007 remotely. They
would have an operator's console with 2, 3, 4, or more "remote operation
consoles" set up. Each console would send out 3 different tones, the
amplitudes of which would go into the voltage-control inputs of the R-5007.
This would control fine-tuning of the receiver (+-4000 Hz, I think), AGC
level, and BFO tuning. The consoles had a built-in speaker and 3 knobs on
the front for the control. I don't know how many of them were made. Probably
not very many.
