Hello all,

I have a strange GPR-90 that I just don't have the time to work on. I
bought it with the understanding that it was a standard GPR-90 in the
original cabinet. It turns out that this radio was a GPR-91 with the
fixed frequency crystal deck. The front end circuit configuration looks
like that of the GPR-91. The rig has the built-in calibrator.

Now for the odd part: the front panel of the receiver was cut down to
eliminate the crystal deck. The resulting 8.75" panel fits into the TMC
cabinet. The cut was done very cleanly. Further, the cabinet has been
modified using press-in PEM nuts to mate with the holes in the panel. This
was all professionally done. The guy I bought it from claimed that the
work was done by TMC. It's possible. There's a metal ID plate on the
front panel that states that the receiver is a GPR-90 manufactured in the
TMC Ottawa, Canada plant. Perhaps that lends credence to the previous
owner's claim.

The receiver comes with the matching speaker and a W7FG manual copy.
Everything is in very good physical condition.

Now for the problem: The receiver doesn't work on all bands. It appears
that the LO is only running on two bands. I planned to get this up and
running and use it as part of an AM station. I just don't have the time or
space to persue the project.

I'm asking $500 for the receiver, speaker and manual copy. I don't want to
ship the receiver, so I would greatly prefer pickup. The receiver is in
Philadelphia, PA (19119).

Thanks and 73,

Ed N3CMI
