The binaural is essentially what is called panning in the recording world -
the signal, with stereo headphones on goes from left to right as you tune
through the signal. I have not found it to be so useful - but I'm glad it
is there.

It favors one frequency over the others - a very narrow audio peaking
filter - sort of. When the desired signal is tuned to the right frequency,
it jumps above the others - it is very useful.
I bought the 599zx to use with my boatanchors, but I found that it is often
better than the DSP in my Mark V. Also, it is great to use with PSK - there
is a lot of flexibility. Tom W6EIJ
