Hi.
Tomorrow I'll be meeting a gentleman to pick up a DSP-599zx. I've had a
couple DSP-59+ and a DSP-9+ so I know kind of what to expect from a DSP.
However, I have a couple questions about this unit specifically. This unit
has Version 5 firmware and the mode I'll be using MOST is the CW mode in
very narrow bandwidths as my primary DXing targets are weak NDB's (longwave
beacons).
1. I see this unit is supposed to do "Binaural CW", a mode I'm not familiar
with. From the name I suspect it somehow splits the CW note into two
channels, one for each ear ;-) How effective is this mode for very weak CW
buried in noise?
2. What is "CW Spotlight"?
I've wanted one of these units for quite a long time, hope it meets my
expectations.
