[TheForge] Gas-saver problem

I'm using something similar to https://pmcsupplies.com/oxygen-acetylene-gas-saver.html
The idea is that you turn on the oxy and propane/acetylene and light the pilot light - when the torch is placed in the rest, the gases are effectively turned off except for the pilot. When you pick up the torch, the gases flow at whatever you set them to and you light off from the pilot.

Saves time and gas - and as a safety precaution, I move a paint cap (red if possible) from the propane value to a high spot nearby (the top of a desk lamp I use for lighting). When shutting down at night, I can see the cap and remember I haven't turned off the pilot.
