Thanks Mike, it's one of the more successful bits weirdness in my life. Just
a I wonder if moments and an amusing story I thought might give the gang a
little relief in trying times. 250lbs. is a best guess, I gave them all away
except for the biggest one I called Moby Tater I was curious if there was a
flavor, texture, etc. difference between: new, bakers and taterzilla. Nope,
just like any other russet.
With folks starting to think about maybe having to grow food I thought the
high yield per sq/ft was worth mentioning. Mine got way too high, it was
just too dangerous to go as tall as I did but I didn't have a very tall
ladder.
Seaweed eh? We don't get seaweed in our part of Cook Inlet, the tides run
too fast and deep, up to 19mph and 32' on average. I wonder how it'd work
with pond weed?

Frosty, your tale of the Tower of Potatoes is just splendid. Just amazing.
We plant potatoes under seaweed: Haul it from the beach, spread it on
existing garden plot or untilled sod between January and mid-April.
In June, tuck the seed potatoes under the seaweed. At harvest time, just
rake off the seaweed to reveal clean potatoes.
Works well, gives good yield but nothing like your 250# from 5 sq. ft.
Old tires? Right. Never throw anything away. :-)
Thanks for the story.
- Mike
