we have customers using our rolls to produce stainless foil down to 0.0004" thickness, but it does take numerous process anneals to get down to that thickness.

They make foil in many different types..  Stainless steel foil is used for
hardening different steels and alloys.. It is made into an air tight
package or envelope sometimes with different materials to change the
environment inside the package..

This will keep the tool scale free..
