Sears came through with an fixit kit for a 30 year old ratchet wrench.
Alldays & Onions sent me installation blueprints and a manual for my
300# A&O hammer when it was at least 70 years old. (But they've since
been acquired by a German company. The Brit themselves are still keen
on their history but historical keenness seems no longer to be
corporate policy.)
OTOH, Atlas Copco disclaims all knowledge of my (guessing here) 1950s
vintage compressor that has "Atlas Copco" cast into the crankcase. I
found a guy on line whose friend had insider access to the AC corporate
databases. Reported no trace of my compressor. (Compressor works
fine. I just wanted specs, parts list, manual, whatever was
available.)
And then there's Wright Hoist. No guarantee after 35 years but they
had my tool on their computers and fixed me up -- at a price.

Oh, yeah. In the late 70s, Black & Decker in Halifax, NS, had parts
for my 1925 B&D 1/2" electric drill. Replaced the broken brush holder
and it's still going strong next to the B&D end grinder of same
vintage.
