I've had a Stihl for years just add fresh gas and oil ( none of that run it dry BS) and go, never had a problemLarry

That's you in a nutshell Terry, blame everything and everybody but yourself.
I've been running Stihl for 42 years, almost killed myself using one in 09.
Do you think someone from Stihl snuck out and made that tree kick back?

Go electric Terry just don't buy Chinese electricity.

I will blame the chainsaw and Stihl who designed and manufactureed the
chainsaw. Stihl knows that most gasoline has ethanol added to it and has the
ability to manufacture a two-cycle that is able to use it. Stihl also knows
the typical homeowner's technical knowledge and should be designing to help
the homeowner and not hinder them.

there are nearly 100 Stihl chainsaws on the various local sales lists a spot
check of why they are selling them. Everyone was "Hard to start".

Making the fuel lines out of a material known to be degraded by ethanol just
to get money for the dealers replacing fuel lines. I have replaced the fuel
lines on all the saws myself and the MS441 has to be taken nearly completely
apart to replace the fuel line.

Instead Stihl and others are now trying to convince the naive user to
purchase Moto-Mix at the obscene price of $7.00+ USD per liter.
$35.00+ USD per gallon.

The Stihl chainsaws I have have been well taken care, given how much I paid
for them. After each use The gasoline was drained out and the saw was run
dry. Spark Plugs replace nearly ever year. Fuel filters replaced every year.
Air filters replaced as needed.

I fault Stihl very much on the inability to be able to get any of them to
reliably start. Fresh Spark plugs, fresh 92 octane gasoline with no ethanol
added, Stihl bar & chain oil in the oil reservoirs.

I do not have the balance to stand anywhere in soft uneven ground and
continually fight to start any of three Stihl chainsaws.

If they do not start on the 2nd or 3rd pull I give up.

Concerning a hydraulic chainsaw being heavy, the Stihl Pole saw is heavy.
The Saw is supported by a harness that the user wears.

Electric Chainsaws do not have the necessary power to cut the size of the
logs I am cutting. Also they require either a long thick heavy extension
cord or a high power inverter on the F150 and a shorter thick heavy
extension cord. Been there done that Have the T-Shirt.
