Green wood is advantageous in a lot of situations and is not a problem. Many turners use green wood for bowls and don't have problems - just not perfection. For wood wheel hubs, wheelwrights waxed the ends of the timber section and bored a hole down the center of the wood to promote even drying. Turning green wood is far easier than dry.
