Just my 2 cents worth. If the springs challenge broke you have a bigger problem. Frame material is heat treated and any attachments are riveted. Welding will
Change the frame material
In the local area. Depending on how it broke you might be able to do a junkyard replacement or the part and the use some grade 8 bolts to hold it in place. If the frame is need of repair I would approach it as a plate bolted in place. But welding only as a last resort.
