[TheForge] anti-rust coating question

hello

while i am repairing the leaf spring shackles i am thinking of cleaning
up the towing hardware and the rear bumper. There is surface rust on the
metal. That i can deal with the soda blaster or a wire wheel. On a truck
forum they are suggesting using POR-15 anti-rust coating. I was just
thinking of using the old reliable rust-o-leum anti-rust paints.

Would anyone have experience with the POR-15 coatings?
Number one question is it worth the cost?
$165.00+ USD per gallon is expensive.
