Hello
long time no write.
I have a need to use the oxygen-acetylene torch and
the cylinders need to be exchanged.
my pickup truck has a broken leaf spring shackle and the rear of the
leaf spring has punched through the bed of the truck. it is not
drivable. Need to cut off the old leaf spring bracket and shackle.
The outfit where i purchased the cylinders has gone bankrupt and was
purchased by airgas. I have the paperwork showing that I own the
cylinders but it appears airgas is having difficulties finding my old
account information.
The local cylinder exchange will not tell me if they even have my size
cylinders to exchange until I set up a new account with them and place a
deposit on the account. I told them I was a cash only individual and did
not need an account, that I just wanted to exchange my cylinders and
could they just tell me if they had them in stock. They still wanted the
account set up and a hefty deposit. Is the economy really that bad that
they have to resort to thieving deposits. My gut feeling is that I would
never see that deposit money again.
The other cylinder exchange, gaspony, at the local farm&fleet is
expensive. They do not have my large oxygen cylinder so they want me to
purchase a new cylinder and fill. I am downsizing and do not need
anymore cylinders.
are others having issues with cylinders and exchanging them.
the local cylinder exchange even after showing them my paperwork
basically implied that I could have forged the paperwork on my computer
and that the cylinders belonged to the defunct company. I do not need
that attitude.
note: I did consider purchasing one of the small cylinder tote kit from
harborfreight but the small size may not be enough to complete the task
at hand. Would anyone with a small cylinder tote kit, comment on the
cutting time with the unit?
