Are you fabricating a firepot? You could weld short sections of 3/4" pipe to the box and use 1/2" pipe for the legs so it can be taken apart.  Beware when welding anything galvanized; zinc fumes can make you ill ~~~~><>

I'm a PA college student welding engineering major, and I'm making a hobby backyard sized coal forge for my Capstone project, and I'm not sure on the fire box sizing and over all table size (needs to fit in the trunk of a compact vehicle). Any help or suggestions would be appreciated
