My my main question was chemical more than anything.
  Pressure is lower, burners I know I can make work well enough for the 
purpose at hand. (Really primitive blown burner arrangement)
I am melting a tray of tin for hot dipping some copper.
The chemical question is whether their is anything in the NG that might 
degrade the hose itself.
  I know there is Mercaptin in the NG. Have no idea whether the LP hose 
would react to it.

The code issues I am not overly concerned with.
Safe I can do as long as I am in control of the exact application. Codes 
cover a much wider spectrum of applications.
