Mike: You need to call the gas company or one that installs gas appliances
in your area. This is a serious liability issue you need to do it right.
Natural gas is different in use than propane, different air fuel ratio, the
line psi is much lower so you'll need gun burners unless it's a cook top,
etc. Best to get professional advice, maybe installation.
Code varies significantly place to place. Even if a member here were a
professional gas appliance guy that advice would be regionally applicable so
unless said pro lived n your town it wouldn't really count. Heck, I'll bet
any pros who speak up say what I just did only better. Be safe, be legal
Brother.
Dem's my 2 copeks.

Subject: [TheForge] I SHOULD know the answer to this.
For some reason I have never had the need or desire to do something that i
am now setting up to do.
I have all sorts of fire available, LP, Natural gas, charcoal , bituminous.
Use them all .
One thing I have never done is to use Natural gas on a movable fire pot.
Normally movable means LP to me.
This time I have access to a Natural gas hook up and because it is inside
a structure they do not want me to use LP.
Big garage doors will be open lots of ventilation to I am not worried above
CO.
Thus far everything I use Natural gas on has been hard piped.
The question is are the hoses that I use for the LP, for which they are
designed OK for the Natural gas?
I am thinking yes, but never having asked the question it is just a guess.
Before I install the proper orifices I need to know if I am also going to be
looking for new flex lines.
This is not a permanent situation and will be broken down after the day.
I just want to return the hoses to there LP use afterwards.
