[TheForge] laser-etched metal "boounces" waterx

Very interesting, but something strikes me as odd: Notice: (1) The demo
always involves dropping the water from a height. I'd like to see water
applied with less potential energy -- and thus less kinetic energy when it
makes contact with the surface. (2) The test piece has a center region and
a margin. The implication is that it is the center region that is altered
by laser, yet the entire piece seems to be highly hydrophobic, to judge by
the behavior of the droplets.

Obviously, I am going by this video only, which is scarcely the entire
story. Nonetheless, I find myself highly skeptical of the purported
results and will likely remain so till I see more convincing evidence.
